Diane’s Room

This hall, located in the north-east pavilion, has been completely decorated in the 16th century for Diane de Poitiers, the famous sister-in-law of the benefactor of the chateau. The room is just restored. The magnificent mural paintings in this hall, which were much deteriorated and significantly altered, required several years of restoration efforts. The restoration started in 2002 and ended July 2013.

Since 2014 visitors can now discover the outstanding resultat of the restoration of the murals and they admire the beauty of the vault, lavishly decorated with 16th century grotesques.
A permanent presentation and exhibition of the restorations is to be seen in the antechamber, Room of The Cesars
