The Flower Room

This room was created and decorated at the start of the 17th century to mark the marriage of François de Clermont-Tonnerre and Anne-Marie Vignier. The panelling and the coffered ceiling together form a remarkable unity. The panelling shows paintings of about thirty flowers, of all different sorts and shapes. It is a tremendous example of the refinement of the time period.
