The Room of Arts

This room belonged to the patron of the Chateau, Antoine III de Clermont.

It is endowed with extraordinary decorations, attributed to the master of the Mannerism art period, Francesco Primaticcio (‘Le Primatice‘) of the First School of Fontainebleau. Seven medallions represent the liberal arts (Grammar – Rhetoric – Logic – Geometry – Arithmetic – Music – Astronomy) and an eighth one is dedicated to Apollo and the Muses.

The room has a multicoloured coffered ceiling in its original state, endowed with rare cartouche emblems.
